There is a widespread belief that Soujiro's style of fighting is named Tenbu no Sai Niyoru Ken. This has been proven to be false. Soujiro's style has never been mentioned, although he has 2 named techniques. Tenbu no Sai Niyoru Ken means "sword by means of heaven-given talent" which was shortened to "Tenken". The origin of this phrase is from when Shishio used it during Soujiro's first battle with Kenshin.
He has two named techniques:
Shukuchi
Translated as "Reduced Earth". This rare technique requires strong legs allows the user to achieve maximum speed in the blink of an eye. For any spectators, it would seem that the distance between the two opponents simply disappeared. This is believed to be even faster than Himura Kenshin's speed.
Shun Ten Satsu
Translated as "Instant Heaven Murder". This technique combines the power of battoujutsu with the speed of true Shukuchi. Due to the speed, "there isn't an instant even to feel the pain" as Soujiro states when he readies himself before the final attack in his battle with Kenshin.
